The University of Fondwa, USA Inc. (uFondwa USA) is a U.S.-based 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. With the belief a critical component of Haiti's future lies with young leaders, and with the development of rural Haiti, uFondwa USA was established by U.S. citizens inspired by the work of the University of Fondwa (UNIF) in Haiti.
Our Mission is UNIF's Mission : To equip generations of engaged citizens who drive sustainable rural development in Haiti by identifying local resources and transforming them into wealth for their communities.
uFondwa-USA contributes to this mission by:
- Soliciting financial, material, and technical support for UNIF’s operations in Haiti.
- Promoting awareness of the successes and challenges of UNIF.
- Fostering relationships with international organizations and institutions of higher education that seek to collaborate with UNIF.
- Making grants to UNIF for capacity building, scholarships for students, and for other special projects.
- Identifying and also supporting other initiatives that empower economic development in the rural sectors.
uFondwa USA offers donors access to the tax advantages a U.S. nonprofit organization can provide, while conducting the due diligence in Haiti that donors require and deserve.
