The University of Fondwa has opened the 2025-2026 academic year with 85 new students, 225 students total, and 45 full-time and part-time professors. Students are enrolled in three disciplines that lie at the heart of the university's mission for rural development: Veterinary Medicine, Agronomy, and Business Management.

The opening convocation brought energy and anticipation as students and faculty gathered in Fondwa. In his opening address, Rector Loudsonde Lafontant spoke with conviction about the role that young people from Haiti's rural communities can play in transforming the country. He reminded students that they are not only the future of Haiti but also the ones best equipped to find solutions rooted in the realities of rural life.

> "The country is yours to improve through innovations that only you, the sons and daughters of Haiti's countryside, truly understand," he told them.

The University of Fondwa remains committed to providing a safe and nurturing environment where students can develop their technical skills, leadership abilities, and sense of social responsibility. By combining classroom learning with hands-on experience in local communities, the university continues to prepare graduates who are capable of leading change from the ground up.
