The academic year at the University of Fondwa has just come to a close, and campus life has been full of activity. Over the past several weeks, students completed their final exams—an important milestone since every course ends with a comprehensive test. With most students enrolled in four classes each semester, exams are a demanding season. Regardless of their chosen major, every student takes courses across Fondwa’s three academic departments: Business Management, Veterinary Medicine, and Agronomy.

Exams are taken seriously, but students are also given second chances. If they do not pass the first time, they have up to two opportunities to retake each final. The most recent round of retakes has just ended, and results are now being tallied.

Meanwhile, students are moving into the next phase of their academic journeys. Those who have completed their studies are now preparing their theses, the final requirement before officially graduating. Continuing students are out in the field for their internships—an essential part of the Fondwa experience. Each student, no matter their major, completes a hands-on internship every year, applying classroom knowledge to real-world challenges in Haitis rural communities.

As this academic year winds down, preparations for the next one are already underway. The 20252026 academic year is expected to begin in late October or early November, depending on when the national government releases results of the high school senior exams. These results are required for incoming freshmen to finalize their admissions.
