We would like to tell you about one of the remarkable leaders we have at the University of Fondwa (UNIF), a woman who has dedicated her life to serving God and her community: Sister Claudette Prevot, a member of the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Antoine of Fondwa.
Sister Claudette – who is also a member of the UNIF Board of Trustees – is a visionary leader, supervising the construction of the School of Veterinary Medicine.
Extraordinary Dedication and Expertise
The dedication and expertise Sister Claudette brings to this project – and everything she undertakes – is nothing short of extraordinary.
Sister Claudette – who earned a degree in management as a member of UNIF’s founding graduating class in 2009 – secured the resources and supervised the successful construction of the sisters’ two-story motherhouse and guesthouse in Fondwa.
“Everyone is amazed at how – in every building project Sister Claudette supervises – she comes in on-time and under budget,” said Anne Hastings, a board member with the university’s fundraising organization in the United States, The University of Fondwa USA.

Working closely with her fellow UNIF trustees, the rector, and supporters like you who are funding the construction, Sister Claudette's leadership is bringing a critical addition to the university campus.
“This new veterinary medicine building will bring much-needed capacity for new classrooms, faculty offices, and student study spaces,” said Ludsonde Lafontant, the university’s rector. “We need this building to be able to serve our students well.”
Sister Claudette's contributions to Fondwa extend far beyond the construction of the veterinary school. A devoted member of her congregation since 2000, Sister Claudette found her spiritual calling within the community, devoting her life to serving the people of God.
We can say that Sr. Claudette is a servant leader – she has always put the needs of others first.
Sister Claudette's work reflects her dedication to serving both God and her fellow Haitians – taking on one critical role after another in Fondwa.
Sister Claudette has served as an educator, teaching elementary school students in Fondwa. She has supervised postulants in her religious community and led the Congregation as Mother Superior from 2012-2017.
Basically, Sister Claudette can competently manage anything!
Sister Claudette said she finds joy in farming too, committing the Sisters of St. Antoine to the goal of growing 90 percent of the food they consume.
“I’m wedded to the land,” Sister Claudette said. “I’m always gardening!”
A Strong Negotiator, Community Builder, and Servant of the Poor
Her faith, diverse experiences, commitment to her community, and sense of justice give Sister Claudette a unique perspective -- one that makes her a profoundly effective leader.
Sister Claudette's impact on Fondwa has been immeasurable, and she continues to make a positive difference in the lives of those around her.
Sister Claudette is a strong negotiator, effective community builder, and excellent servant of the poor and the members of our community. We are blessed to have her as a leader at UNIF and as our neighbor in Fondwa.
